Craft Beer Brewers Have a New Tool to Slash Energy and Water Costs
Every business, large or small, needs to keep a careful eye on energy and water costs, but for industries that use a lot of both, such as breweries, keeping those costs down can make a huge difference in the bottom line. And for a small craft beer brewer, working on tighter margins and a smaller scale, using both water and energy in the most efficient manner is key.

Wastewater Disinfection and Energy Generation Make “Hot” Couple
When the PTG Water & Energy (PTG) first presented their heat-based wastewater disinfection system to a group of environmental engineers, they didn’t get the response they expected.

Pasteurization Technology Group(PTG) Raises $5M for Wastewater Disinfection
Water utilities and industrial companies are increasingly looking for efficiencies in wastewater cycles. One company that is focused on that mission, Pasteurization Technology Group (PTG), just raised $5 million in series A financing. The new round of money will be used to expand sales, especially in the industrial sector.

Graton’s New Eco-Friendly Wastewater Treatment Plant

Graton will soon have a new disinfection system for its wastewater treatment plant. We have picked a pasteurization process to do this, the same heating process used to kill dangerous bacteria in milk and other dairy products. It will meet the state and federal water quality standards, and it means we no longer have to use chlorine, a dangerous and toxic greenhouse gas, for the final stage of wastewater treatment.

Sustainable Treatment System Eliminates Need for Chemicals

The X-500 (500,000 gpd) wastewater treatment system from the PTG Water & Energy (PTG) is a non-toxic process designed to replace chlorine-based or UV disinfection while generating on-site electric power. The combined heat and power system (CHP) takes the pasteurization process used in the food and beverage industry and applies it to wastewater for reuse in agriculture and other industries.

Ventura Testing More Environmentally Friendly Sustainable System to Dispose of Sewage

PTG Water & Energy’s CEO, Greg Ryan, Jr. was interviewed by NPR affiliate KCLU’s Lance Orozco.  They discussed the wastewater treatment system that is being tested at the City of Ventura (CA).

PTG has an innovative system that utilizes the biogas from the facility to help drive a turbine that generates electricity.  They harness the waste heat to disinfect the wastewater stream without any of the harmful chemicals used in most chlorine-based treatment facilities.
